Hlavin, Lisa - Advanced Academics

This is my twenty-third year teaching. I love helping students grow in their reading, writing and math skills. Students need to be ready to write a lot in my class! There are no limits to what students can achieve in my class if they are willing to push themselves. We often discuss how if you feel somewhat uncomfortable trying something new, you are expanding your knowledge. If everything you do in class is easy, you aren't really learning as much as you could.

Personally, I am always reading novels and articles about interesting topics. My husband Dave and I both love music and attend several live music concerts each year. We also enjoy hiking up mountains at some point over the summer! I teach Spin classes at both Lindenhurst Health and Fitness and Centre Club. I enjoy creating recipes of my own based on recipes I have read.

I cant wait to get to know your child and what is important to him or her.

GOAL SETTING

Our class is hard at work every day!  It is useful to take the time to come up with daily goals you wish to achieve.
Throughout the day, check yourself to see if you are making good progress.

One tool you can use to plan how to get to your goals is SPLOME.
Look at this document and choose one goal you want to achieve.
Fill out the sheet to demonstrate you have a path to follow to make your dream a reality!

E-Learning

Welcome to Mrs. Hlavin's D103 E-Learning Page!
This is where you will come to see updates on how to access your learning from home on days that school might be canceled due emergencies. Please note that the school day will run from 8:25-3:25 as usual. I will be available for questions through my email address.
Our Google Classroom MEET LINK is:

I will be working with students mostly through email and within the Meet. Assignments and any resources I need to share will likely be emailed to students or linked to our Classroom
