Hello!  I am Mrs. Diaz and I have taught for 25 years.  I love teaching and learning! My favorite things to do when I'm not teaching are spending time with my family, traveling, reading, watching movies, and anything outside including taking long walks, biking, gardening.  I have two kids, my son will be a sophomore at University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana studying engineering physics and my daughter will be a junior at Warren Township High School.  My husband teaches 8th grade Spanish in Libertyville. 

I have taught in Waukegan for 6 years and Gurnee for 24 years. What I like about 5th grade is that students are making sense of the world and are starting to think more globally. How does one event affect another? What do students value? How can kind words and actions change the world for the better?
