Hello PT families!
My name is Mrs. Schmid and I am the art teacher here at Prairie Trail. This will be my sixth year teaching art and my 11th year teaching altogether. I used to teach 3rd grade and Kindergarten. But art is my passion and I am so lucky to be able to share my love of art and creativity with my students.
My goal for the year is to teach the Elements of Art and Principles of Design while following the Fine Arts State Standards. At the same time, I strive to expose the students to as many different art media types as I can. Students will learn about art, art history, how to take care of their art tools and art space all while having fun in a safe and loving environment.
In short, we have fun while creating beautiful art!
Originally from Scotland, I now live in Wadsworth with my husband, two kiddos, Freya (14) and Gunnar (12), and our cat Issy (19). I love to create, take photos, read, garden, work out and spend time with my family.
