Mrs. Gillespie
Hello! I'm Mrs. Gillespie. This is my fifth year of teaching at Prairie Trail School. I graduated from Waukegan East High School and then attended Western Illinois University where I studied Bilingual Education. I obtained my teaching credentials from Trinity International University. I am an initiated member of Kappa Delta Pi Honors Society of Educators and hold middle school endorsements in Social Studies and Language Arts. In addition, I have an ESL endorsement from St. Francis University.
During my career, I have taught 1st and 5th grade. I have also taught art to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. This year, I am very excited about returning to teach 3rd grade at Praire Trail School.
I have four children and twin granddaughters. My husband is also a teacher. Mr. Gillespie teaches Science in Waukegan. We own two pets, a cat and a Senegal parrot. In my sparetime, I enjoy drawing, watching the Chicago Cubs and traveling to Door County, Wisconsin.
I am looking forward to another great year of learning with my amazing students!
