Mrs. Kahn

A little about me...

I am currently starting my 15th year in District 56 as a science teacher, 20th year of teaching overall. I teach both 7th and 8th grade science, in addition to 7th and 8th grade health. My goal is to encourage all students to develop an appreciation of science in the two years that I have them in my class. My aim in my science classes is to expose the students to a variety of topics, with a focus on hands-on lab work as much as possible. I also implement many reading/writing strategies in my classroom, to keep aligned with the district reading goals.

I have been married for thirteen years to my husband Jeff, who is a territory manager for Royal Cup Coffee. We have one son Lukas who is currently in 4th grade at St. Patrick School in Wadsworth. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading books by authors such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz, catching up with series on Netflix, and playing games on my mini-iPad.

For all of my latest class assignments, please be sure to access Schoology, using your parent account info that was sent home at the start of the year.  If you need this information resent to you, please let me know.  Unfortunately, if you have already created an account and a password, I am unable to reset your password for you if you have forgotten it....but please contact the Schoology support and they can help you.

I also will sent out a weekly email at the end of each week that summarizes what we accomplished during class over the course of the week.  Please be on the lookout for the email either on Fridays, or over the weekends.
