Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. O'Brien and I am the music teacher at Prairie Trail School. I love my job and enjoy teaching students to love and appreciate music! This will be my ninth year teaching music at Prairie Trail School. Previously, I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I also received my Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership from Concordia University. However, music has been a part of my life since an early age. I began playing trombone in fourth grade and have been playing ever since! Marching Band was a huge part of my life and afforded me many unique opportunities. I also took vocal lessons and enjoyed being in numerous musical productions. While I understand not every student will become a performer, music educator, etc, I do believe that every child should make music a part of their life as it can be an extremely enjoyable and rewarding experience. ​Please contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
